Dear Baron Mueller,
The Committee of Management has this day sanctioned a subsidy of £40 towards the expenses of Mr Bauerlen in the far north-west of this colony for three months in the spring. I understand he will start from Bourke at the beginning of August. The Committee has left details to me, so I hope to hear from you from time to time, with the view to making publications for the expedition.
The Committee will employ Mr Bauerlen collecting woods in the Southern districts until he is readly to start for the north west.
Yours very truly,
J. H. Maiden
