Let me thank you, dear Professor Bocage, for your kind note and for all your friendliness.
Would it not be possible to obtain some actual
documents
in the
Archives
of Lisbon, concerning the first discovery of the west-coast of Australia by Portuguese
Navigators? In all probability some manuscripts, decrees, instructions, rapports &c
may still be found.

See M to J. Barbosa du Bocage, 20 October 1886 (in this edition as 86-10-20a).
I now send you a large set of photograms of New Zealand, which shows the magnificent
scenery and the changes also, which in some instances the volcanic eruptions have
lately made. If you think it
proper
, I should be glad, if you would present this to the young Crown Prince. I have two
new volumes, one with 76 plates,
and one with 60 plates (quarto)
to send soon to the Royal Library at the Palace in continuation of my works.

B86.08.05 (which included 74 plates)?
4
B87.13.04?
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller.
I hope, soon to forward to you an other zoologic consignment.
