Gestern in der Sonntags Ruhe, lieber Herr Tepper, habe ich mehrere Stunden auf das sorgsame Studium Ihrer Styphelia verwandt, u bin zur Überzeugung gelangt, dass es die ächte S. hirsuta ist, welche am King George’s Sound vorkommt, u auch dort selten ist. Wir haben daher ein Seitenstück zum Vorkommen von Hydrocotyle diantha in der Känguruh-Insel, u dies zeigt, mit wie grosser Vorsicht zu verfahren ist, ehe man neue Arten aufstellt. Solche Fälle werden sich noch mehren des Wiedererkennens Westaustr. Pflanzen in Ihrem Territorium u die Caladenia Cairnsiana scheint ein analoger Fall zu sein.

and is also rare there. Therefore we have a counterpart to the occurrence of Hydrocotyle diantha on Kangaroo Island,

and this shows with what great caution one has to proceed before one establishes new species. Such cases of the recognition of West Australian plants in your territory will increase still and the Caladenia cairnsiana seems to be an analogous case.
