Würden Sie so freundlich sein, hochgeehrter Herr Professor, mir mitzutheilen, ob es seine war, welche Swartz bereits 1800 in den Act. Holm pr. 229 t. 3 beschrieb, da in dem Falle der Name vier Jahre eher veröffentlicht wurde als Smith´s D. punctata?

Vielleicht hat Ihr Landsmann nur generisch Diuris behandelt, aber möglicherweise könnte er ja auch schon mehr als einer Art die Namen 1800 gegeben haben. Ich möchte für eine neue Ausgabe meines "Census of Austral. plants", den Ihre Kgl. Akademie haben wird, über Swartz's Bemerkungen hinsichtlich Diuris genaue Kenntnis erlangen.

Ich könnte Ihnen für Ihre schöne Ausgabe der Erythraea-Arten zwei Formen von hier liefern. Wieviele Exemplare gebrauchen Sie von jeder?

Would you be so kind, highly esteemed Professor, to tell me whether it was his that Swartz described as early as 1800 in the Acta Holmensia pr. 229 t. 3, because in that case the name was published four years earlier than Smith's D. punctata?

Perhaps your fellow countryman only treated Diuris generically, but possibly he could have also given the names already to more than one species in 1800. I would like to obtain exact knowledge about Swartz's comments with regard to Diuris for a new edition of my Census of Australian plants that your Royal academy will have.

In the second edition of his Census (B89.12.03), M attributed Diuris to Smith in Transactions of the Linnean Society, vol. 4 (1798), p. 222, not to his description of D. punctata in 1804.
