Your note re the e was too late for the plant was given in my first Occasional Paper

See M to F. Bailey, 22 October 1886 (in this edition as 86-10-22d). lysicephala, described under the names of M and Bailey in Bailey (1886a), p. 2;  no further Occassional Paper has been found. In Bailey (1888), p. 24,  the species was transferred to Agonis.

I have heard nothing about this Mr Hooker except the notice in the paper
