Dear Dr
I send you a pretty little flower root and all its the only one of the kind that I
have seen in Queensland or else where. I have only one little spot where I know that
it grows at a place called Tower Hill — I don't know the name of it You will please
let me know its name. I am getting specimens of all the gums that I can for you But
I don't know how to send them without crushing them Its bad time here to get any specimens
of any kind, as the drought is so bad not even grass or water in this district — I
have no friends or acquaintances in the far north to send or get me any specimens
as you desired
I planted the grass seeds that you sent me,
they came well but want a good deal of water to make it grow well
