MS annotation by Tepper: '5.4.86'. Annotations of this kind appear to be from a later date, perhaps when Tepper was putting the letters he had received from M in chronological order preparatory to having them bound together, and generally give the date on which the letter was written. However, 5 April 1886 was a Monday, not a Sunday, and the item is therefore dated here to 4 April. Tepper wrote an identical annotation on the letter that M dated to the Monday, i.e. M to O. Tepper, 5 April 1886, which suggests that Tepper received the two items together and assumed that M wrote them on the same day.
Insel gebracht. Die Frucht blieb bisher unbekannt.
Freundlichst grüssend
Ferd. von Mueller.

As I rewrote the names of your last plants fatigued in the night hours, dear Mr Tepper, I did not think immediately of . This is a very rare species that you brought from Kangaroo Island
