See M to G. Goyder, December 1885 (in this edition as 85-12-00e). No river with this name appears on modern gazetteers, but Favenc (1908), p. 223, reports that Lewis, when exploring the area around Lake Eyre in 1875, gave the name ‘Everard' to what later proved to be the SA portion of the Diamantina.
