Sir,
I have the honor to request you will be good enough to state with as little delay
as possible, whether there is any officer in your Branch qualified to perform the
duties of a chemist for the Department of Agriculture.
He will be required to undertake the analyses of soils, manures, water &c and to conduct
enquiries into matters pertaining to Agriculture, Horticulture, and Forestry.
