Erlauben Sie mir die Vorfrage, ob es auf irgend eine Weise möglich wäre, ein Octav-Bild von einer Art aus jedem der Genera der Austral. gezeichnet zu bekommen für Veröffentlichung hier, u. wenn dies möglich wäre, was die Kosten betragen würden. Ich gehe mit dem Gedanken um, von allen Gattungen der Vascularen Australiens eine Art, nach und nach für Illustration der Genera abbilden zu lassen volles Bild mit vollständigen Analysen. —

Du Mortier's Bilder sind für den Gebrauch der Tyronen zu klein u. unvollständig, schliessen auch die extraaustralischen Genera nicht ein, u. ich würde am liebsten mit beginnen.

Permit me the preliminary question, whether it would be possible in any kind of way, to get an octavo illustration of one species of each of the genera of Australian drawn for publication here, and if this were possible, what would the costs amount to.

No such work was ever published.

I am turning over in my mind gradually to have one species of all genera of Australian vasculares delineated for illustrations of the genera. Full illustration with complete descriptions.

Du Mortier's illustrations are too small for the use of the tyro and incomplete, also do not include the extra-Australian genera,

Du Mortier (1874)? This work is, however, concerned with European (i.e. 'extra-Australian') species, and includes no Australian genera. If this is the work to which M was referring, he must have meant to say that it included no Australian genera; and it was illustrations of Australian genera that he was seeking.
