Es ist eine so geraume Zeit, lieber Herr Holtze, seit ich weder von Ihnen noch von Hr. P. Foelsche gehört, dass ich doch den Versuch machen muss, unsere Verbindung wieder einzuleiten.

Manche Ihrer Pflanzen bedürfen noch Ergänzung, u. könnten dann als neu beschrieben werden.

Etwas Neues bieten Ihre Jungel

Dschungel.

an den Flussufern gewiss auch noch, so kleine Annuelle u Wasserpflanzen selbst in Ihrer Nähe u die Standorte sind auch ja recht interessant, selbst wenn die Arten nicht neu sind. Vielleicht sind Ihnen amtliche Schwierigkeiten entstanden, Sendungen an mich zu machen, obgleich ich nicht sehe, warum Sie nicht mit mir austauschen sollten, da ich ja gern auch etwas an Ihre Anstalt sende, u. jede Ihrer Entdeckungen anerkenne.

Etwas frischer Samen von wäre wieder erwünscht, da solcher hier nicht reift.

Wie geht es mit Ihrer ? und mit Samen, dem "Rain-tree." Ich habe eine neue Ausgabe der "select plants" unter der Presse, welche Ende dieses Jahres erscheinen wird und viele neue Notizen enthalten soll. Ich werde Ihnen ein Ex. davon senden, sobald der Druck vollendet ist. Es liegt mir auch ganz besonders an Samen aller Arten von dort.

It is such a considerably long time, dear Mr Holtze, since I heard from you or Mr P. Foelsche, that I must make the attempt to restore our connection once more.

Many of your plants require supplementing, and could then be described as new.

Surely your jungles should still offer something new on the river-banks, such as little annuals and water plants, even from near you. The locality records alone are very interesting, even when the species are not new. Perhaps you experienced official difficulties about sending to me, though I do not see why you should not exchange with me, as I am happy to send something to your institution too, and each of your discoveries is acknowledged.

Some fresh seeds of would be desired again, because they do not ripen here.

How is your coming on?

M. glaziovii? M consistently used the spelling M. glaziouii in successive editions of Select extra-tropical plants. See also notes M to M. Holtze, 31 August 1884.

And what about seed, the "rain tree"? I have a new edition of the "Select plants" in press that will be published at the end of this year

and that is to contain many new notes. I will send you a copy as soon as the printing is completed. I am also particularly anxious for seed of all species from there.
