M presumably offered comments on the presidential address delivered by Sir Edward Strickland at the annual meeting of the New South Wales Branch of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia, held on 18 August 1885. This may have been the letter "Re President's address Botanical S" that was read at a meeting of the General and Administrative Council of the New South Wales Branch on 19 September 1885.
