T. R. Wilson Esqr
Sir
I have the honor to solicit, that permission may be given for my obtaining for direct
departmental distribution as occasions may arise a few dozen copies of the small new
part of "Papuan plants" (1½ sheet only);
as it seems, that perhaps some exception may be made to the general rule of distributing
Gov. publications in this case, as copies become suddenly needful for the encouragement
of collectors or in appreciation of occasional sendings received.

B85.13.33.
When larger publications are ready in my Department, also this new small part of the
Papuan plants could be sent out along with the more ample works under the ordinary
rules.

On 20 July, Wilson sent M's letter to the Premier for approval. The file was returned
with approval granted on 23 July whereupon it was forwarded to M who returned it 'with
best thanks' on 25 July. It was then sent to the Government Printer who forwarded
100 copies of the new part to M on 28 July.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller.
