Dear Baron von Mueller
As you kindly said you would forward the Eucalypt leaves which I have skeletonized
to Sir J. Lubbock, for his lectures “On the forms of leaves” I shall think it very
kind of you to send these few specimens which I trust may be of interest to the Linnean
Society.
If you can send me some more Eucalypt or other leaves I shall be very pleased to
skeletonize them for scientific purposes. The cards I sent were fixed in a glass case.
Some of the paper still adheres to them at the back: it would injure the leaves to
take them off the cards.

The leaves were exhibited at a meeting of the Linnean Society of London on 5 November
1885 (Proceedings of the Linnean Society of London, session 1885-86, p. 117). The text includes a paraphrase of M to J. Hooker, 30 May 1885.
With kind remembrances from all our family circle
I remain
Yours Sincerely
Grace E Lewellin
I have named the leaves as well as I could remember yr. kind instructions If not correct
will you kindly alter them.
In haste excuse this hurried note.
