T. R. Wilson Esqr
Undersecretary.
Sir.
In reply to your Circular N.1036
I have the honor to inform you, that the only officer in the Gov. Botanists Department,
who occupies Gov. Quarters, is Mr G. Renner; but the only room occupied by him, is
not given him for private convenience, but is in the iron-annex to the Botanic Museum,
of which he is the Custodian; and it is for this Custodianship, requiring him be early
and late also Sundays and Holidays (except when temporarily released) to be in the
bot Museum, that Mr Renner occupies the room, no extra pay being granted for the extra-duty
of watching the Museum, which he does at all times, unless when occasionally relieved.

Circular not found.
Under these circumstances not possibly any deductions could be made from Mr Renner's
payment on account of his occupancy of a room in the Museum-annex of the bot. Department.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist.
