24/2/85.
Let me express my best thanks, dear Sir George, for the kind manner, in which you show your interest in the suggestion ventured by me, to secure the Heuzenroederian numismatic collection.
1
See M to G. Verdon, 20 February 1885.
Perhaps at your next visit to Adelaide, you may have an opportunity to inspect it personally. This much I can say, that it exceeds very many times your coin-collection in the Library-Museum. Duplicates would, allow me to remark, become available for interchanges.
Very regardfully
your
Ferd von Mueller.
Mr H. might perhaps divide his collections in the antique, the medieval and more recent lots, and sell one of these sections at a time
2
The Museum did not purchase the collection; see R. Curtis to M, 2 April 1885.
