Sir,
In reply to your memorandum (B.11880) of yesterday,
I have the honor to inform you, that no one, whose position had been discontinued
in an other Department by resignation or reduction, has become engaged in the establishment
of the Gov. Botanist; but Mr C. French senior
was transferred from a position in the botanic garden to a place in my establishment,
and I have therefore attached a memorandum to that effect herewith.
