In connection with the monthly memorandum, which I have the honor herewith to forward,
I beg to mention, that it may yet be necessary perhaps, to inform the Civil Service
Commissioners, that Mr. Léon Henry resigned his position as junior assistant on the
19 Aug. 1884, and that the hon. the Chief Secretary appointed Mr. G. Renner to fill
the vacancy; the payment for this junior officer is rendered out of the Contingencies
Vote, at the rate of seven shillings and six pence each working day, i.e. six days
a week.

This file was 'forwarded for the information of the Civil Service Commissioners' on
2 December. On 5 December Wilson minuted: 'This should be indicated in the monthly
return of changes if not already done'.
