T.R. Wilson Esqr,
Undersecretary.
Sir.
In reference to your letter of the 14 Nov. N. 4845 and circular N. 936
I have the honor to inform you, that all employées, returned in my list for the Public
Service Board as belonging to the Gov. Botanists Department,
must be regarded as fully and regularly employed, and have therefore every claim for
being registered as in the departmental service. It is however right for me to remark,
that Assistant G. Renner, Assistant J. Minchin and Junior Assistant Ch. French (jun.)
were not appointed by his Excellency the Governor in Council, and that they were hitherto
paid out of the contingency-vote.
