MS found with a specimen of Owenia acidula (MEL 118868). MS annotation by M: 'Owenia acidula, FvM sent by Mr J. Duff. Nov 1884'. MS has been cut along the edges, close to the text, so as to leave just the description of the plant, and some text may have been lost.
"Gruie, Warrongan or Colaine" are the names locally applied to this tree in the Brewarrina district.

It resembles the Pepper tree (
Schinus molle

) in appearance and is very handsome when in fruit. Its branches spread from the trunk to a height of about 8 to 10 ft from the ground, and it forms a good shade tree.
