Melbourne,
11. Sept. 1884.
The honorable Graham Berry, M.L.A.,
Chief Secretary.
I have the honor to solicit your permission to have the lithographic work done for the volume on , concerning which I submitted a proposition in a letter, dated 5 Oct. 1883.
1
See M to G. Berry, 5 October 1883.
If this meets with your favorable consideration, after you kindly caused the publishing vote to be augmented by £200 this year, I would recommend, that the lithographic work be carried out by the firm of Mess. Troedel & Coy at £2.10/- for each lithographic plate, the same firm having also done the lithographic drawings for the Eucalyptography. I would further beg permission, that the Government Printer may be allowed to do the printing of the lithographies and of the text.
2
On 22 September the Under Secretary, T. Wilson, sent the file to M 'to note approval & to return the file for reference to the Govt Printer'. M returned the file 'with best thanks' on 29 September and the next day it was forwarded to J. Ferres, Government Printer, who 'noted and returned' it on 3 October. The volume of lithograms was published as B86.08.05.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller.
