You will be surprised to receive a third communication from me after so short an interval.

I have been studying your ninth decade,

and to day having gathered a specimen of E Tereticornis, or what I suppose to be such — our swamp gum, have been examining it by the light of your careful description
In doing so I have remarked a peculiarity I have never before observed and of which there is no mention in your description — a Black Capsule 3 / 16 to ⅛

deep, on the Calyx lid. from which it becomes detached apparently some time before maturity of the lid — or separation from the Calyx. (I am unaware if dehiscence is the proper term to apply) I send you specimens thinking it possible that it may be a generic speciality peculiar to our Tereticornis altho the probabability is that it is not unknown to you
