M's letter was forwarded from the Chief Secretary's Department to the Premier's Office on 1 August 1884. It was returned by E. Thomas, Secretary to the Premier, on 7 September 1884 with the note that the 'Government Printer has been instructed to forward the decades of Eucalyptography to the Director of the Antwerp Botanic Gardens through the Trustees of the Public Library. The Trustees have also been requested to state in forwarding the books that they are presented at the instance of Baron von Mueller'. The Government Printer forwarded the books to the Public Library on 8 September and the Librarian, T. F. Bride, sent them to Dr Henri von Heurk at Antwerp on 11 September (P84/2610, unit 25, Public Record Office, Victoria).
