Mit dem Post-Dampfschiff, welches diesen Brief bringt, hochgeehrter Herr Professor, wird Ihnen auch ein Packet von Algen zugehen. Es enthält die Ausbeute der letzten längeren Excursionen des vortrefflichen Mr J. Bracebr. Wilson zu Geelong. Ich lege seinen betreffenden Brief bei. N. 32 fehlt, wie meine Durchsicht zeigt. Hoffentlich wird Ihnen diese sorgsam bereitete Sammlung etwas Freude machen, und auch für die Special Wissenschaft, deren Grossmeister Sie sind, etwas Neues bieten.

By the mail steamer that brings this letter, highly esteemed Professor, a parcel of algae will also go to you. It contains the results of the last longer excursions of the excellent Mr J. Bracebridge Wilson at Geelong. I enclose his letter concerning it.

No. 32 is missing as my examination shows. It is to be hoped this carefully prepared collection will give you some pleasure and also offer something new for the special science whose grand master you are.

Agardh received the parcel in August 1884. It contained new species and possibly two new genera. For Agardh's list of identifications, see J. Agardh to M, 14 September 1884.
