Sir,
I send you the head of a plant that I obtained from Queensland, though I believe it is a native of Europe. The person I got it from called it Teosinte or Hungarian Millet, but I think these plants are not identical. Would you kindly give me its botanical and common name. With me it grows about four feet high with many stalks to one root. I do not find it described in your "Select Plants."
I am,
Sir,
Yours &c,
Elijah J. Stranger.
