— a return I did not look for, owing to state of your health, though I know your very great kindness. I hope that the bronchial attack from which you have suffered so much is passing away, it is often very slow to go — my father suffered three years from bronchitis during which time he could not go out after sundown, but he is now well.
I enclose a list of flowers sent me from between Menindie & Wilcannia.

Both on the Darling River in western NSW.
Unfortunately I was not told which specimens (if any) were got in the Horse paddock where they may have been introduced from Victoria in horse feed or in grass seed. Several of them are common all over South Riverina

& Victoria (I think). No. 42 does not belong to the Darling lot — but comes from Sydney or Portarlington

I forget which (but I think the former). 43 is broken & a poor specimen — so unfortunately is 44 which I dont remember to have seen before.
My friend tells me that this year has been a very bad one — the long & excessive drought having told severely on all herbage & made it scarce.
