I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to allow a copy of the Eucalyptographia, of which the 10th Decade is not completed

M had competed the text of Decade 10 while at the coast for his health; see M to A. de Candolle, 14 January 1884, and M to R. Tate, 4 January 1884 (in this edition as 84-01-04a). However, the work was not in press until much later in the year (see M to S. Loven, 21 October 1884 (in this edition as 84-10-21a)), and was not finally issued until November (see M to G. Berry, 9 November 1884) (B84.11.02).
to be bound inexpensively at the Government Printing Office, in order that the complete volume may accompany some Eucalyptus-preparations, to be exhibited by me on behalf of the Government at the Exhibition next month.

On 28 February 1884, the Under Secretary, T. Wilson, forwarded M's letter to the Premier's Department. The Premier, James Service, initialed the file the next day and the Under Secretary, E. Thomas, forwarded it to the Government Printer, J. Ferres. Ferres replied on 14 March that two days earlier, he had sent a copy of the book to M as requested. Wilson passed the file on to M who returned it 'with best thanks' on 20 March 1884.
