T. R. Wilson Esqr.
Undersecretary.
Sir,
I have the honor to express my best thanks for the kind manner, in which the honorable
Graham Berry, the Chief Secretary, approved of my solicitation, that compensation
may be granted to the widow of the late Mr. C. Groener.
The departed Gentleman entered fully the Governments Service on the first July 1873
and died on the 6. Febr. 1884,
his Salary being latterly £200 annually. He spent however nearly 10 years more in
my private service, being all that time Office-Keeper in my House in the bot. Garden,
when all throughout a large share of his time was spent for Governments purposes daily,
early and late, for which he had only my payments from private means.
