My dear Baron,
I have the enclosed specimen sent me today from Mt. Gambier district. The general characteristics of the tree are decidedly those of " E. pauciflora ", but the fruits and buds are broader and much larger than those of this Eucalyptus; you will also observe that the unexpanded flowers are very angular in the specimen. Will you kindly let me know if this is only one of the forms of E. pauciflora . I propose illustrating E. pauciflora in Part IV of "Forest Flora" and will be glad to give a few notes re. the species from you should you like to do so.

Brown's text accompanying the plate includes some notes attributed to M about the size of trees of this species in different parts of Australia.
Many thanks for review in "Leader."
