MS is an undated fragment in Persieh's hand, found with an unrelated specimen of Freycinetia scandens (MEL 2269346) collected at the Bloomfield River, Qld, in 1884 by E. Bauer. MEL has three specimens of Moreton Bay Ash, Corymbia tessellaris , collected by Persieh at the Endeavour River, Qld: one (MEL 1591807) is undated; the label of a second (MEL 1591808) that is also undated is a portion of a used envelope post-stamped Perth, December 1883, and so must be dated to no earlier than 1884; and the third (MEL 231844) is dated 1884. Persieh's letter is also on this basis dated here to 1884.
