Mit lezter Post, geehrter Herr Holtze, bat mich der Monograph der , prof. Caspary, ihm noch mehr australisches Material zu senden. Er wünscht von unseren 2 oder 3 Arten die Blumen u. reifen Früchte der Länge nach aufgeschnitten zu haben, damit solche selbst bei schnellen Trocknen nicht vermodern. Würden Sie auch uns hierbei Ihre gütige Hülfe gewähren?

He would like the flowers and ripe fruits of our 2 or 3 species, cut open lengthwise for them to dry quickly and not to rot. Would you also give us your kind assistance in this matter?

In the 1891 edition of Select extra-tropical plants (B91.13.10), M listed for the first time under (Peanut): 'Mr Holtze harvested at Port Darwin 27 cwt. from an acre, the product being saleable at £20 per ton there.'
