Have you noticed in your last peregrinations, dear Professor Tate, a Swainsona, which has been long before me in an imperfect state, but of which I have this season good specimens, it having proved poisonous to stock. I had given it the name S. camptopetala on account of the twisted upper and lateral petals.

No species described by M under this name has been found.
The petals are of the color of S. lessertiifolia, but the plant is more of the habit of S. phacoides and accompanies S. procumbens on wet places. Doubtless you have it in S. Australia also. I have prepared a description for publication.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
