Letters not found. For the text given here, see Australasian , 18 August 1883, p. 218, reporting the meeting of the Victorian Vinegrowers’ Association held on Friday 10 August.
[Letters were received from Baron von Mueller, thanking the association for having elected him as an honorary member, and promising to do all he could to assist the association. He also wrote stating that at present he had not any seeds of the American vines which resisted the phylloxera. He expected some shortly, when he would forward a supply to the association for distribution amongst the members.]
