Last evening, dear Prof. Tate, I received your letter of the 20th,

and as I was not very urgently engaged to day, I managed to make some hours free, to examine at once the interesting plant, which you rightly recognized as a n.g. I send now the msc., which you can publish as a joint writing of ours.

new genus. Dimorphocoma (D. minutula), erected by M and Tate in B83.14.02, p. 107 (in the part of the paper read to the Royal Society of SA on 7 August 1883) is the only new genus erected jointly by Tate and M (IPNI, accessed 1 April 2023).

Among the minute annuals, which collectors generally pass must be yet many novelties, not only as regards Composites, but also of other orders, particularly , , &c
