I thought it best, dear Mr Wilson, to send the letter, concerning the £60.9/-
before the end of the finance-year, and gave it to my Assistant, as he had to go to
your Accountant about the settlement of the £51.- .- for the iron-cases got from the penal department last year,
the Treasury having a day or two ago sent back the papers.

Altho' you kindly said that there was time for some months for sundry additions to the Estimates, I have
thought that perhaps, to simplify matters, the £60.9 might be recovered by adding
the words "including arrears" after the item of £330.- miscellaneous votes of Gov Botanist on the ordinary estimates for the coming year.
Perhaps however that can not be done; but then at all events you have my letter, should
a favorable opportunity arise to use it.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
