Found with specimen of
Lobelia
dentata
(MEL 2261392). MS annotation by M: 'Answ 14/6/83 FvM'. Letter not found.
Baron Von Mueller
My Dear Sir
I should esteem it a favor, if you would tell me the name of the enclosed Lobelia.
I cannot make it agree,
satisfactorily
, with any species in the "
Flora Australiensis
"
; and yet, the peculiar falcate sections of the lower lobe of the corolla, should
make it easy to identify. You must pardon my troubling you with this matter, but Dr
Woolls, who so kindly assists me, is away from home at present, and I am making up
a small parcel of specimens to send by a friend to England, and I wish to include
this lobelia.
