MS found with a specimen of alternifolium (MEL 569729), with a note by Sullivan: '8 Mt Wm. [William] Left you a small scrap when in Melbourne. There is a young fruit on this specimen which may enable you to name it for me.' There is a note in another hand on this sheet linked to 'small scrap', 'Probably MEL 569728', although M's label on MEL 569728 dates it to 1882.

Dear Sir
I thank you very much for your kindness in naming the plants for me. I will carefully attend in future to your suggestion regarding fuller particulars in connection with each species especially Orchids.

among rocks. As I have already stated only one plant occurred on the spot where I found it, but Mr Miller (of this place) tells me that he saw some more. If such be the case we may be able at some future time to secure good flowering and fruiting specimens. The habit is almost prostrate or slightly adscendant.
I remain, Dear Sir,
Yours faithfully
D. Sullivan.
Will attend to your request re floating slimy plants
