The text is introduced by: 'The president has been in communication with Baron Von Mueller, K.C.M.G., respecting poisonous plants, which it is alleged are found in some portions of this district.'

The report concludes: 'The co-operation of gentlemen so eminent in science as those mentioned must necessarily be highly beneficial to the School of Mines.' (Prior to the paagraph about M, the report noted that 'Professor M'Coy, Mr. Cosmo Newbury, and Mr. Ellery' had also agreed to provide the School with specimens and instruments.)
