MS found with a specimen of
Lithocarpus celebicus
(MEL 25075).
Be so good, dear Mr Wing, to
keep back
Oncinocalyx for the next number
,
as I want to make some additions to it. The
present
slip would therefore only contain Verticordia and Helipterum.
2
Oncinocalyx
was erected in B83.03.02,
pp. 69-70 (
O. betchei
)
.
Verticordia
and
Helipterum
were discussed in the same article
, along with
an
Hibiscus
. It is more probable that M's request was too late for Wing to pull the text for
Oncinocalyx
than that the whole item was held over, as there is no issue in this period that does not contain
an article, and only one article, by M in the series 'Definitions of some new Australian
plants'; the April issue has also an item outside ths series title. Although the press date for Wing's
Southern Science Record
is unknown, the item is dated to late February as the latest probable date refering
to the impending publication; 24 February was the last Saturday in the month.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller
I will send for it on Monday noon
Helipterum
