Some time ago, dear Prof. Tate, I had made some notes on the curious little Composite, which you collected on 2 Oct. 1880 near Wellington,

and of which you sent me a specimen some months ago. Only now I have in connection with other work on allied plants completed the elaboration. It is pleasing to me, that thus I can furnish again some slight contribution to the publication of the R. S.
