Some time ago, dear Prof. Tate, I had made some notes on the curious little Composite,
which you collected on 2 Oct. 1880 near Wellington,
and of which you sent me a specimen some months ago. Only now I have in connection
with other work on allied plants completed the elaboration. It is pleasing to me,
that thus I can furnish again some slight contribution to the publication of the R.
S.
of S.A., and pay you some homage at the same time.
I look forward with great interest to you
essay on the Kang. Isl. Flora. The notes, which you wished, were furnished some days
ago, concerning former collectors there.
