To day, dear Prof Tate, I got from you a parcel of dried plants, but no letter. As I can manage to make an hour free, I just note at once some remarks on these specimens.
Agrostis from Noarlunga & Lake George

= large form of Agr. Solandri. I adopted that name in the Chatham Isl. Flora,

because includes only 2 or 3 forms of the 8 or 9 united by me under the name of the Botanist who first of all referred this grass to its correct genus. The other Agrostis from Narracourt

Naracoorte, SA.
is the smallest form of the same species; many intermediate varieties occur, in which the sterile flower is more or less developed. Thus the genus falls to the ground
