I got so confused by over powering work, dear Professor, that I do
not
remember, whether I
did
acknowledge the receipt of the list of additions, which you elaborated for my Census.
I received it all right as well as your kind letter of 20/12/82
and feel much
obliged
to you. As you have probably been away, either in Kang. Island
or on the Murray-River, you will not have missed my reply, if really I did not send
one.

I was at work all through the holidays. The addenda are not yet
through
the press; the printer is so busy otherwise, and I had also so many calls on my time
by routine-work of the Department, that my progress with the "finale" has been slow.
I received yesterday the Certificate back from N.Z, signed by Dr Haast & Dr Hector:
and forwarded it at once to Prof McCoy.
After I have got all signatures here, I will send it to Sir Joseph Hooker. I think,
that in my last letter,
I already wished you every happiness in the new annual space of time, on which we
have entered.

The certificate nominating Tate for election to the Royal Society of London; see M

I had to stay away from Church this evening, to get through
some
of the arrear correspondence.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller.
