Undated fragment. The translation is included within the text in square brackets. There are no specimens numbered 261 or 281 at MEL. Dating lists such as this is difficult. Holtze used the same numbers in different collections and in some cases there are specimens from both 1882 and 1883 in the collection, and one case has collections of the same species dated 1882, 1883, 1886 (AVH, accessed 2 June 2022). Twenty of the numbers have at least one specimen dated to 1883, with only one having another specimen dated later. The list is therefore dated to 1883. (There are some specimens with the same number recorded for 1886 as a joint collection between J. E. Tenison Woods and Holtze, but these are specimens given by Holtze to Tenison Woods when he was in the NT in 1886 and have been discounted when assessing the likely date of this list.)
