As I am apt to loose sight of plants, dear Prof. Tate, which need as additional to be inserted in your Census,
1
Tate was publishing additions to his Census (Tate (1880)), for example, Tate (1882), Tate (1883a).
I just mention, that I have identified ( ) among Mr Tepper's plants from Yorke's Peninsula,

where indeed years ago it was obtained by Miss Salmon. The same very distinct species was also got by Mess. Young & Tietkens between Youldeh and Ouldabinna. Remarks on these and other will appear in the new number of the Fragmenta, which will be issued in the course of this month.

M discussed the in B82.12.03, pp. 12-18, with descriptions of several new species, including descriptions of some Bassia species for which synonyms in Chenolea , listed as 'F.M. coll.', are given. M appears to have been undecided about the genus to use on his labels when specimens were distributed: see, for example the specimen at Kew, K 898805, which he had first labelled in ink as Bassia astrocarpa , but added Chenolea in pencil before it was sent to Kew in 1887. M had evidently recognised before publication that 'Chenolea preissii' had been previously described as Rhagodia preissii ; see pp. 15-16 where M cites a collection by Salmon but not that by Tepper. M had received 'about 400' Preiss specimens from Sonder in 1854 (M to W. Hooker, 14 July 1854), probably including MEL 545195 and MEL 545199, i.e. Preiss's number 1252, identified on the original label as 'R. linifolia R. Br.'. Rhagodia preissii is included in Tate (1883a), p. 112.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller
