The list is one of a number sent by Cooke that are now in the library of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. See notes to M. Cooke to M, 17 January 1885, for a discussion of Cooke's author attributions. The item is a folded folio, giving four pages.
Unless otherwise noted, all entries with an identifying number or letter have an ink to the left of the numeral or letter. Most have pencil marks adjacent to the left of the entry. Absence of such marks has not been noted: they differ in form and it is not clear whether or not all were made by the same person.
FNI and Index fungorum were accessed 3 September 2021.
The bottom right of the first sheet has been annotated by J. H. Willis: '20 November 1882'.
The list is arranged implicitly in five columns: reference number, Genus, species epithet and author, location, collector (although 'collector' is infrequently stated). The arrangement is formalized in this transcription.

34
There is more than one Mitchell River in Australia; it is not possible to determine which location is intended in the absence of details of the collector. AVH lists four specimens collected before 1882, three from Queensland and one from New South Wales, all in the National Herbarium of Victoria. However, none map to the region of any of the Australian Mitchell Rivers.
This is the final entry on page 2 of the list.
