Esteemed Sir,
I gather from your note you would welcome some seed of Euc. Berhiana
3
Eucalyptus behriana?
I therefore have the pleasure of forwarding a small parcel hope it will reach you safe
I am very much obliged to you for the parcel of valuable printed information you so kindly forwarded me of late. I beg to tender my hearty thanks.
May I trouble you to name the Acacias enclosed for I am not in possession of any work that will show me. The "spiney" or prickly (No 1) is a common shrub here growing on poor dry soils of a sandy loom with the on an ironey soil or decomposed rock. No 2 is found only on the limestone among spinifex. No 1 grows to a hight of 8 feet and very open and scanty in greenery while No 2 is a very compact and close rounded shrub of 5 and 6 feet in hight when in flower one mass of yellow balls making the whole plant look aflame. I enclose a few seed of the No 2 Acacia
We have the here found invariably on high dry, (but good marly soils) sites and in cases to the hight of 20 Feet.
We have alo the "scarlet Bottle Brush" (I think it is ) here that is growing on dry ironey soils and at an altitude of 1,300 feet [a.s.]
