Endlich, lieber Herr Holtze, habe ich etwas Ruhe gehabt, um an neuen Pflanzen zu arbeiten, und habe Ihre N.181 als in den Druck gesandt. Glücklicherweise hatten Sie gute Früchte gesandt, sonst hätte ich mit der Pflanze nichts machen können, möchte aber um bessere Blumen bitten und um Auskunft über den Wuchs, Höhe, Blumenfarbe, Art des Vorkommens, Geruch u.s.w., Frucht-Farbe. Das Vorkommen dieser Anonaceae in Nord West Australien ist merkwürdig, denn wir kannten bisher von dort nur Popowia Australis, ausser einer ? welche ich nur in Frucht aus der Caledon-Bay kenne, wo solche einen Strauch bildet. Vielleicht können Sie gelegentlich die Blüthe und anderes Neues von der Caledon-Bay herbeischaffen.

Von der breit- und flachästigen blattlosen ?, die am Liverpool-River häufig zu sein scheint, kenne ich auch bisher weder Blumen noch Früchte.

Da ich im Dec. dieses Jahres den grossen Band des Pflanzen Census durch die Presse haben werde, wird mir im Jahre 1883, falls mir Gott Leben u Geisteskräfte u Sehvermögen lässt nach 43 Jahren arbeiten an Pflanzen, mehr Zeit vorhanden sein, um auch Ihren künftigen Pflanzen gerecht zu werden.

N. 160. Ihrer Sammlung ist , Benth. wie ich nach sorgfältiger Untersuchung ermittelte, obwohl Früchte noch immer fehlen.

At long last, dear Mr Holtze, I have had some peace to work on new plants, and I have sent your No. 181 to press as Polyalthia holtzeana.

Luckily you had sent good fruit, otherwise I could not have done anything with the plant. However, I should like to ask you for better flowers and for information on its habit, height, flower colour, habitat, perfume, etc., colour of the fruit. The occurrence of this Anonacea in north-western Australia is unusual, because until now we knew from there only , apart from one ?, which I know only in fruit from Caledon Bay

where it forms a shrub. Perhaps you could at some time procure the flower and anything new from Caledon Bay.

So far I also know neither flowers nor fruit of the aphyllous, broad and flat-branched ?, which appears to be common at the Liverpool River.
