No 906 to Question-paper on Botany
2. And will thank you to forward at your convenience your report thereon for the information
and guidance of the Council in the matter of granting The School's Certificate of
Competency

M's report dated 26 September 1881 (letter not found) was read to the Council of the
School on 18 October 1882 and, in accordance with its recommendations, a Certificate
of Competence in General Botany was granted to the candidate George Porter Day (School
of Mines Ballarat, minute book, School of Mines and Industries Ballarat Limited).
