Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Notes of a case of chyluria', Australian medical journal, new series, vol. 15, August 1882, p. 343, in which Pincott included a reference to a report of cases treated by 'a decoction of the mangrove bark (Rhizophora Racemosa)'. The case was presented at a meeting of the Medical Society of Victoria on 2 August 1882; the patient, whom Pincott first saw on 1 April, died on 20 April. The letter is dated to April 1882 as the earliest that M could have supplied the information, which is unlikely to have been done at a meeting.
[I applied to Baron Mueller for information respecting the properties of the mangrove bark, and how it could be procured. With his usual courtesy he promptly supplied me with the fullest information, and took the trouble to apply to a botanical friend in Queensland for some of the bark.
