Noch schuldige ich Ihnen, edler Freund, meinen besten Glückwunsch zum neuen Jahre. Mag es für Sie und die Ihren ein Jahr von steter Freude, ungestörtem Wohlsein und zunehmender Begüterung werden!
Ich bin Ihnen recht verpflichtet für die Güte, mir so interessante Notizen über die Höhen-Vegetation Ihrer Alpen zu geben; diese Bemerkungen sind sehr wichtig, namentlich im Vergleich des Entsprechenden, das ich in den Alpen Australiens gesehen.
Ich habe Ihnen noch allerlei Schriften der Neuzeit zu senden, aber nichts davon ist wirklich aus der Presse.
Empfehlen Sie mich dem Wohlwollen Ihrer ausgezeichneten Gemahlin u behalten Sie lieb Ihren Sie Ehrenden
